Privacy Notice

Waitlist / coming-soon page · Last updated 10 July 2026

This notice explains what happens to the information you give us when you join the Hooder waitlist. It covers the pre-launch waitlist only.

What we collect

  • Your email address.
  • A referral code we generate for you, and the code of whoever referred you (if any).
  • The approximate time you signed up and your referral count, to order the waitlist.
  • A hashed form of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse. We do not store your raw IP.

Why we use it

  • To tell you when Hooder launches and send related updates.
  • To run the waitlist: your position, your referrals, and the cosmetic “OG” badge.
  • To protect the service from abuse.

Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making that affects you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use trusted processors to run the service: Resend (email delivery) and Neon (database hosting). They process your data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Until Hooder launches and for a reasonable period after, or until you unsubscribe / ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from any email using the link in its footer.
  • Ask us to access or delete your data at any time.
  • If you're in the UK/EU, you also have the right to object, restrict, or complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

Cookies & local storage

We store a single value in your browser (your own referral code) so the page can show your waitlist status when you return. It's functional only — no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
